Volunteer Crew Registration


Hello! Thank you for your willingness to volunteer as balloon chase crew during the 2026 Carolina BalloonFest!

Each crew volunteer must complete the application below.  Indicate in the comments if you are volunteering with family or friends and we will do our best to keep you together.

You will be contacted by our balloon chase crew coordinator as the event approaches.

Important changes for 2026

  1. Volunteer time options have changed to:
  •      Friday Morning
  •      Friday Afternoon
  •      Saturday – both morning and afternoon flights
  •      Sunday – both morning and afternoon flights

   Preference given to those who volunteer for more than 1 full day.

  1. Due to parking limitations, your pilot will transport you to and from the festival.
  2. Meeting times with your pilot will typically be an hour before sunrise and early afternoon. 
  3. Your pilot will provide your event wristbands and T-shirts.

VOLUNTEER WAIVER AGREEMENT
THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING

For and in consideration of being permitted to participate as a volunteer in a hot air balloon event, hereinafter referred to as Carolina Balloonfest (CBF), I, the undersigned, for myself, my personal representatives, heirs, executors, assigns, and next of kin, do:

1. Release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc., d/b/a Carolina Balloonfest, the City of Statesville, Iredell County, any event sponsors (cash or in kind), the balloon pilots, balloon crews, balloon owners/sponsors, organizers of the balloon flight, and the officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns of each of them (collectively referred to as “Releasees”) from any and all liability for any loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees), and any claims, demands, suits, or actions on account of bodily injury (including death) or damage to/loss of property sustained by the undersigned or their representatives, whether caused by negligence on the ground or in the air.

2. Agree to indemnify, save, and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all loss, liability, damage, cost, or expenses they may incur due to the presence of, or any action by, the undersigned in or about the balloon event, whether caused by negligence of the Releasees or otherwise.

The undersigned expressly agrees that this Release and Waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by applicable law. If any portion is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.

The undersigned warrants that the following statements are true and correct and that the Releasees have relied on them in granting permission to be in or around the balloon.

No oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from the foregoing have been made. The undersigned assumes full responsibility for, and risk of, bodily injury, death, or property loss/damage due to the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise upon entering the balloon area.

The undersigned has read and understands this is a legal and binding document and voluntarily signs this Release and Waiver Agreement.
